GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO CAKEWALK OR OTHER DAW'S

Video tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GT_Wwfw0ac

I use VST Host exclusively now(at left) for both rx and tx. Below is a VST Host zipped folder containing a setup for running it as a "TX" DAW. There are 2 benefits to this. You don't need to install anything except for the plugins(same plugins that Cakewalk uses). It runs right out of the extracted folder. Second, you can have all of the plugins open at the same time making it much easier to setup your audio. No more having to open each plugin individually and then having it close when opening the next plugin for edit. Install the plugins to a folder on your computer and then set the plugin path in VST Host. All aspects of operation are the same as the RXDAP system. Watch the last 2 videos in the master blaster class series. You will need Banana or 2 independent cards as before. After testing this works really well and you can run multiple instances of VST Host simultaneously. I have changed the name of the VST Host folder(below) to reflect that it is for "TX." It must be named different and the RXDAP and TX must be opened from their respective folders independently.

Download VST Host TX DAW below and extract it to your desktop:

CAKEWALK DAW

What you see here(to left) is a snapshot of Cakewalk by Bandlabs. Download link(downloading should commence once page opens): https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk?lang=en
It may get blocked by your browser. Check your downloads folder and select "keep" to continue downloading. Install and follow prompts. It is a free DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). There are many others that are free. Choose one to your liking and go with it. They all function the same. Below is a list of "plug-ins" I am currently using for audio enhancement of TX & RXDAP system. Please see install instructions at the bottom of page.

I am using the "Modern Expander" above as a "Downward Expander." This eliminates almost all (99%) background noise in my audio including amplifier and power supply fans. Indispensable tool!

To Install plugins:
Download the plugin. It will normally be a zipped file. Extract first and open extracted folder. The files will be either an .exe file or .dll. For .exe file, execute the exe and install to the c:programs/cakewalk(or daw program folder you installed)/vst plugins. For .DLL files simply copy and paste the entire extracted folder containing the .dll files into the same directory(vst plugins). That's it. Your plugins should be visible in a search within the DAW software. Tutorials for how to use the DAW software of your choice are on-line.
